Understanding Wedding Celebrant Costs
When you invest in a wedding celebrant, you’re not just paying for a service; you’re ensuring your wedding ceremony is as unique and special as your love story. Fees can range significantly, typically between £500 and £1200, depending on experience, location, and personalisation.
What Do the Fees Include?
Initial Consultation: A no-obligation meeting can be conducted via Zoom, Google Meets or a simple phone call. It's a chance for you to meet the celebrant, discuss your vision for your wedding, and determine if the celebrant is the right fit for you.
Provisional Booking: Once you decide to book the celebrant, your chosen date can be temporarily secured. You'll receive a booking form and the Terms & Conditions via email, which you're expected to sign and return within two weeks, along with a deposit to officially secure your date.
Personalised Questionnaires: Two questionnaires will be emailed to you and your partner to fill out. The amount of detail you provide helps the celebrant craft a ceremony that reflects your personality and love story, so the more information you can provide, the more personal your ceremony will be.
Vows & Ceremony Support: A wedding celebrant can support you when writing your vows or suggest readings and rituals to include in your ceremony, making sure everything you choose reflects you as a couple.
Follow-Up Conversations: Your celebrant will follow up with you to discuss any queries you might have. They will also send you the wedding script, making changes until you are 100% happy. Do not be afraid of asking for changes, after all this is your big day, and your script should reflect you and your partner.
On The Day Support: Your celebrant should arrive an hour before the ceremony to liaise with the wedding party, coordinate with the photographer and venue, and ensure both the bride and groom feel comfortable and prepared.
A Bespoke Ceremony: Your celebrant will deliver a bespoke ceremony with your personalised wedding script, captivating your guests and leaving everyone feeling the love.
A Keepsake Script: After the ceremony, you'll receive a copy of your ceremony script to cherish and remember the day.
What’s Not Included in the Fee?
While a wedding celebrant's fee covers an extensive range of services necessary to craft a beautiful, personalised ceremony, any additional costs should be discussed from the outset. This could include:
Travel Costs: Your celebrant fee includes a mileage radius for travel, and this should cover most local weddings. However, additional mileage charges will apply if your venue exceeds this radius. These travel expenses compensate for the extra time and fuel required for your celebrant to reach the destination.
Dress Rehearsals: Due to the extra time and commitment involved, rehearsals are generally not included in the base celebrant fee. Think of this as an optional 'add-on' – a service available for an additional cost that can be discussed and arranged with your celebrant.
Overnight Accommodations: If your wedding venue is a considerable distance from where your celebrant is based, overnight accommodations are separate from the celebrant's service fee. This expense should be discussed before any bookings are arranged.
Flights: If you’re planning a wedding abroad, remember flight costs are not included in the celebrant fee. Either you can find a celebrant in the country you have chosen to get married in or discuss expenses with your chosen celebrant.
